Great display and presentation of a WWII submarine! I can only imagine what the men / boys aboard this amazing piece of equipment went through. My father was aboard a similar sub (Bergal). So I fe… Full review by Idakop

This is part of Pearl Harbor, and so worth your time. Its a self guided tour on/in the sub. You have to be able to climb up and down steep stairs and crawl through small doors inside so if you have m… Full review by Lisa J

USS Bowfin Submarine is worth a visit to see what life on a submarine looked like. It was more cramped than I expected! I didn't find the museum terribly interesting. Full review by Y2599VRjane

A:
The Bowfin itself is just a self-guided walkthrough. It really depends when you go/how busy it is. We went during off-season and it took us about 20-30 minutes.

Average time to do tour

5 hours would cover the Arizona Memorial. USS Bowfin. Airforce Museum and the Missouri. You can stay longer depends on your interest in each one.

Getting through the doors of the submarine was difficult for my husband with back and leg problems and for myself with a foot that I have to wear a brace on. Once we figured out how to do it, it was okay. This should be pointed out to people who may have disabilities. Was a very good tour and well worth it. It was not crowded the day we were there, so we were able to take our time.

Yes I would definitely agree with that statement. While I have good mobility, my mother, who's knees don't bend as well, has some difficulty managing the bulkheads. If this is an issue for a person then I would recommend that they not go down into the ship. The USS Missouri would be a great alternative. It is a terrific monument and the holds of the ship are much easier to navigate. There are still a few ladders to deal with but I think it would be a much more enjoyable experience for a person with limited mobility than the bowfin.
Q:
When you purchase a ticket for a certain day, do you have to go at a particular time like you do for the Arizona Memorial?
A:
I don't think so. I recall waiting for the Arizona film to start and then going out to the site but I think for the submarine you just go whenever.
