I had specially mentioned koalas in my review, because we were lucky to see them just before closing time of 5.00PM.There are many animals, reptiles,and aquatic creatures. Definitely Kangaroos were there. I would suggest visiting the place so that atleast 2-3hours before zoo closing time so that we don't miss seeing any of them

However, these days I would be surprised if your gluten intolerant family members couldn't find somewhere nearby if the Zoo didn't cater for them. Sydney, and particularly Darling Harbour, is packed with places to eat of course and the natives are extremely friendly I found so could point you in the right direction if necessary.
