A narrow "pocket park" on the southern shore of Lake Sammamish, Timberlake Park is a relatively-small, 24-acre parcel of preserved conifer forest that primarily serves as a public access point, beach, and sea kayak boat launch for the 98-square mile lake. A broad half-mile gravel trail leaves from the tiny 5-car parking area and passes old-growth bigleaf maples and western red cedars before leading down to the lakefront beach. Here the park features a grassy field, a few picnic tables, and a vault toilet. The park is also part of the Lakes-To-Locks Water Trail, which includes over 100 public access points onto the open waters found throughout the Seattle metro area, including Lake Sammamish, Sammamish River, Lake Washington and Lake Union.
