PALM BAY, Fla. — Inflation, rising rent and soaring gas prices are hitting people hard, especially families, who are struggling to put food on the table. Hundreds of meals were handed out to families in need at the Second Harvest Food Bank of Central Florida and Hands for Healing food distribution event in Palm Bay on Tuesday.

VERO BEACH — A food truck that exploded in Vero Beach Saturday, sending one woman to the hospital with severe burns, passed its first safety inspection two months ago, according to the state business regulation department. The truck, Michelle's Catch of the Day, was operating at Riverside Park during the Vero Beach Seafood Festival.Witnesses reported smelling propane before the explosion, just before 9 a.m., police said.

VERO BEACH — Shortly before a food trailer exploded critically injuring a vendor before the opening of the seafood festival in Riverside Park Saturday, an event worker was looking to find the source of a suspected propane leak. The worker said he talked with the owner of Michelle’s Catch of the Day food truck and that one of the trailer’s two 100-pound propane tanks “felt empty," according to a Vero Beach police report.
