TIFTON — Tift County is planning to give a bit more recognition and appreciation to its park areas in the coming month. A proclamation read by Tim Petrea, assistant director of the Tift County Recreation Department, declared July as Parks and Recreation Month, with July 22 being declared National Parks and Recreation Day.

The Moultrie Fire Department responded to a fire at Dalton’s restaurant at 10:45 p.m. June 6. The interior of the restaurant was damaged to the point it will need to be gutted, owner Kelly Dalton said. While waiting for that work to be done, he and his wife, Amy, plan to open another location of their restaurant in downtown Moultrie.

Colquitt County Arts Center hosted the exhibition of glassworks — from windows to bowls to Christmas ornaments and many more unique designs — until June 16, according to the “Clearly Colorful” program.
