North Carolina company recalls dessert over Listeria concerns
CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - A North Carolina company issued a voluntary recall of selected products produced in early March that could be contaminated with Listeria.
Poppies International, Inc., of Battleboro, North Carolina, is recalling Delizza Belgian Custard Cream Mini Eclairs.
They can be identified by the following lot number (L1M1018 Best Before 09/09/19) which can be found on the side of each tub by the lid.
The recalled products were produced between March 5 and March 9. Routine sampling by the company revealed that finished products ran on the same line contaminated with the bacteria, according to the Food and Drug Administration's website.
No illnesses or adverse health effects have been reported, the FDA said.
Customers who bought or received the products should discontinue their use and return it to the place of purchase for a full refund.
