CLEVELAND, Ohio – Chocolate is, of course, an addictive must-have for many folks. It’s also a versatile dessert that stretches a chef’s imagination. Since we offered non-chocolate desserts awhile ago we thought we would satisfy the chocoholics among us this time around. There’s so many to choose from, we stuck to restaurants outside of Cleveland. Who knows? We might take another dive on this topic, whose menu boundaries are pretty much endless. We also tip our cap to one of our talented photographers, David Petkiewicz, who enjoys photographing food as much as he does eating it. Here’s to those with a chocolate sweet tooth.
BEACHWOOD: Lindey’s Lake House
Sometimes fancy doesn’t do it. Simple and nostalgic does. Lindey’s takes you back to your childhood with warm chocolate-chip cookies.
2101 Richmond road, Beachwood

MENTOR-ON-THE-LAKE: Ninja Japanese
Face it: You eat healthy offerings like sushi so you can get to chocolate crepe cake.

MIDDLEBURG HEIGHTS: Bistro on 130
Triple chocolate mousse came up as a dessert-du-jour offering. A fitting ending to an Italian meal.
7778 W. 130th St., Middleburg Heights
MEDINA: Serenite
This “duo of chocolate” is, of course, twice as much fun for chocoholics and offers two different textures.
538 W. Liberty St., Medina

MORELAND HILLS: Cru Uncorked
Cru knows chocolate. This is a hazelnut bar made with hazelnut dacquoise, chocolate cremeux, crispy feuilletine, milk chocolate, chantilly and lemon ice cream. If not available, don’t fret: We recently found a dark chocolate mousse, salted caramel center with chef’s whim ice cream on the menu.
34300 Chagrin Blvd., Moreland Hills
COPLEY: Kingfish
After a savory seafood meal top it off with dessert. Seems like Kingfish always has some sort of chocolate topoff on the menu, like this chocolate fudge brownie with sea-salt caramel ice cream surrounded by brandied cherries and hazelnuts.
115 Montrose West Ave., Copley
MEDINA: 17 Public Square
If you hear “double chocolate brownie,” you know it will be decadent, chewy and delicious. Simple and tasty, and a smart all-ages pleasing dessert option.
17 Public Square, Medina

MULTIPLE LOCATIONS: Mitchell’s Ice Cream
Sometimes a scoop of ice cream hits the spot. Mitchell’s offers several flavors with chocolate – sometimes the flavor is the star of the show, other times it’s a supporting actress. This particular flavor - Bing Cherry Chocolate Chunk – ranked No. 5 on Alex Darus' ranking of Mitchell’s flavors awhile ago. She wrote: “This is a sundae in a cone. The cherry ice cream is sweet but subtle as the cherry and chocolate mix-ins are the real stars of the show.”

ORANGE VILLAGE: Shake Shack
Yes, the chain is known for its burgers, but it’s also known for its “concretes” – dense frozen custard with add-ins. This one is Hopscotch concrete, made with vanilla custard, chocolate toffee, salted caramel sauce and dark chocolate chunk.
Pinecrest development, Orange Village
AKRON: Vaccaro’s Trattoria
This is one of those places that offers a variety of desserts on its menu to finish a great Italian meal. (We should know, we’ve had many here.)
1000 Ghent Road, Akron
PARMA: Golden Corral
One of the best named desserts – the chocolate “wonderfall” – offers a little theater.
8696 Brookpark Road, Parma
