Legendary former U.S. Women's National Team goalkeeper Hope Solo pleaded guilty Monday to drunk driving.

This finding comes four months after Hope Solo was found unconscious behind the wheel of her vehicle at a convenience store in North Carolina with her two-year-old twins aboard.

What was the sentence she received?

Hope Solo was charged with misdemeanor child abuse and resisting a public officer in connection with the March 31 incident. Her attorney, Chris Clifton, said the two charges were voluntarily dismissed, the Winston-Salem Journal reported.

Although in a statement the Forsyth County District Attorney's office said the judge gave Solo, 40, of Roaring Gap in Alleghany County, a 24-month suspended sentence and a 30-day active sentence.

Solo received 30 days credit for time spent in a rehabilitation center and ordered him to pay $2,500 in fines and $600 of the cost of lab testing. He will also have to complete a substance abuse assessment and complete recommended treatment.

Roaring Gap is approximately 60 miles northwest of Winston-Salem.

What did Hope Solo learn?

In a statement following her deposition, Solo said she was proud to be a mother and how she and her husband had managed their children during the pandemic, "It was incredibly hard and I made a grave mistake."

"Easily the worst mistake of my life. I underestimated how destructive alcohol had become in my life," she said.

How did Solo's problem start?

According to the police report, Solo was arrested in the parking lot of a shopping center in Winston-Salem. According to the arrest warrant, a passerby saw Hope unconscious behind the wheel with the engine running and children in the back seat for more than an hour.

A responding officer said he could smell alcohol and Solo refused a sobriety test.

Solo was taken to the magistrate's office and refused a breathalyzer test so police requested a warrant for a blood test. Solo's body alcohol concentration was 0.24%, three times the legal limit.
