Troopers arrested a Noorvik man suspected of arson and assault

A 27-year-old man is facing arson and assault charges after Alaska State Troopers say he set a home on fire in the village of Noorvik.

AST says on Feb. 11 at 6 a.m., they responded to a call of a fire.

Troopers say three people were inside and were all able to get out in time.

The home was a complete loss.

Troopers say one of the occupants received severe burns and was medivacked to Kotzebue then to Anchorage.

Through an investigation, Troopers and State Fire Marshals determined Harry Nazuruk was a suspect and he was arrested.
