Brian Rosenthal is accused of generating and possessing child porn

A former sports reporter is facing new criminal charges.Lancaster County prosecutors say Brian Rosenthal generated or distributed child pornography between July of 2018 and July of 2021.According to court documents, prosecutors say Rosenthal was in possession of child porn on July 28, 2021.These felony charges come two weeks after authorities in Nemaha County charged Rosenthal with first-degree sexual assault of a child.A judge set his bond at $1 million.Nemaha County authorities alleged that Rosenthal sexually assaulted a child between the ages of 12 and 16 between 2017 and 2018.Rosenthal's name is well-known in the Nebraska sports world as he wrote for Huskers.com and the Lincoln Journal Star for years.The University of Nebraska-Lincoln athletics department had no comment, other than to say his employment ended in June 2020.
