Nueces County reports 43 new COVID-19 cases, no new deaths

Nueces County reported 43 new COVID-19 cases and no new deaths on Friday.

The new cases bring the county total to 19,956. There have been 19,660 community transmitted cases.

Nineteen of the new cases were confirmed positives and 24 were probable positives. There have been 15,554 confirmed and 4,402 probably positives since the onset of the pandemic. 

There were no new deaths on Friday and the county total remains 401.

There were also no new hospitalizations reported on Friday. Eighty-one patients were in the hospital and 35 in the ICU. There have been 2,618 total hospitalizations and 19,201 recoveries.

The city of Corpus Christi website gives a breakdown of COVID-19 cases in the county. The genders are not included in the age range breakdown on the website. 

  • Travel-related — 65
  • Person to person (close contact) — 188
  • Community transmission — 19,660
  • Under investigation — 43
  • Probable positive — 4,402 (new: 24)

  • Deaths — 401 (new: 0)
  • Hospitalized —  2,618
  • Currently in hospital — 81
  • In intensive care — 35
  • Recovered — 19,201

* The number of people recovered will not be subtracted from the total number of cases, officials have said.
