Memjet to Present at the Japan Inkjet Business Conference

Press release from the issuing company

Presentation highlights Memjet’s growth and opportunity in the APAC region

San Diego, Calif. – Memjet continues its expansion into the Asia Pacific (APAC) region, hiring a regional-based team, announcing new OEM partners, and actively participating in industry events. This week, the company will continue building its momentum in the region with a presentation at the Japan Inkjet Business Conference (JIBC) January 30-31at the Ivy Hall in Tokyo.

At the JIBC, Memjet’s Vice President of Business Development Bent Serritslev will host a presentation discussing how inkjet technology is transforming today’s print marketplace. This presentation “Memjet Thermal Inkjet Technology – Powering a Changing Market” will take place January 31 at 12:00 p.m. (JST) in the Myrtus Room, Ivy Hall, Tokyo, Japan.

“It’s exciting to see the opportunities inkjet technology is creating in the APAC region,” says Serritslev. “Memjet’s unique thermal inkjet printhead technology is the driving force behind that change. At the upcoming JIBC conference, I’ll be educating attendees on how Memjet’s technology, combined with our commitment to customer success, enable a growing number of OEM partners to develop fast, cost-effective printing solutions for a variety of print markets.”

A Year of Growth and Opportunity

In the past year, use of Memjet’s technology has expanded in the APAC region.

In September of 2019, the company launched DuraFlex, a modular, single-pass, aqueous pigment ink print solution. DuraFlex combines Memjet’s signature features — beautiful precision, simplicity and affordability — with new attributes such as enhanced durability, A4 and A3+ widths in a four-color printhead, a high-speed data path and modules that control all printhead functions.

Following the launch, Memjet announced its first DuraFlex partner in Asia, COASO; the OEM used DuraFlex to develop a new label printer, iCueLabel 420. Soon after, India-based Monotech Systems introduced their Jetsci ColorAqua hybrid label printing press using DuraFlex in India at the Pamex 2020 exhibition.

At the same time, use of DuraLink® technology continues to expand. The technology has been adopted by several OEMs in the APAC region. DuraLink is a digital printing platform that combines long-life printheads, pigment ink and flexible modules designed for press solutions. DuraLink provides OEM partners a fast, easy way to develop solutions that meet high-volume print markets’ demands such as commercial print, labeling and packaging.

DLG/UP Group, one of the first OEM partners in APAC to adopt DuraLink, used the technology to develop the DuMax-330 label printer, an affordable, flexible label printer.

Another recent OEM adopter of DuraLink in APAC, Shield used the technology to develop a powerful digital inkjet press for the Chinese market.

This growing list of new, “Powered by Memjet” solutions, combined with the range of label printers from OEM partners with established relationships with Memjet, received positive feedback and acclaim at Labelexpo China in December 2019.

“As we continue our growth in the APAC region, it’s clear that Memjet’s beautiful precision, simplicity, and affordability enable OEM partners to develop solutions that meet market demands,” concludes Serritslev. “Most importantly, working with Memjet means our partners can keep pace with modern print trends and get their products to market faster and more economically than ever before."
