    The Graduate Management Admission Council (GMAC), the owner and administrator of the GMAT exam, is about to introduce a new format of the test later this year. Changes like shorter test duration, 'analytical writing assessment' section dropping and introduction of 'data insights' as new one is on the cards.

    The University of California itself has shown reluctance to do away with SAT/ACT scores entirely, keeping them optional. It has stressed the value of enrolling students of “diverse backgrounds and experiences”, mentioning that the tests, if not used for admissions criteria, could be used for other evaluations like English language or subject-specific technical proficiency.
