Actor and singer Jinyoung will start his mandatory military duty later this month, his agency said Thursday.
The former member of K-pop boy band B1A4 will enter an army boot camp on June 20 for four weeks of basic military training. He is set to spend the remaining period ― about 20 months ― as a public service worker supporting community services at a designated public organization
"He has experienced multiple shoulder injuries, so he was assigned to fulfill the duty as a public worker, not a rank-and-file soldier," his agency said.
Jinyoung debuted in 2011 as the main rapper of B1A4. He left the group last year and developed a career as an actor. He recently starred in the Netflix original drama "My First First Love."
