ORLAND — Glenn County provided bottled drinking water to 60 families last week during its first bottled water distribution event. Water was provided to residents impacted by dry wells resulting from the current drought. Glenn County Planning and Community Development Department has received 105 well incident reports from residents throughout the county. Additional bottled water distribution events have been scheduled.

Bottled Water Distribution Events:

  • Orland Fire Department, rear parking lot/bays Wednesday, July 21 from 4-7 p.m. and Wednesday, July 28 from 4-6 p.m.
  • Elk Creek High School Football Field on Friday, July 23, from 6-8 p.m.

This event will take place during the annual Fire Awareness and Ice Cream Social Event. Come to the Sheriff’s Office – OES/SAR booth for water pickup.

Each event will be limited by supplies available; limit 10 cases per household.

Residents must complete a Glenn County Dry Well report either online at www.countyofglenn.net/Drought select Dry Well Reporting; by phone, call the Glenn County Planning and Community Development Department at 934-6540; or in person at the bottled water distribution events.

Please do not bring donations to the water distribution sites. Although we appreciate the donations of goods and supplies, it is very difficult to manage and distribute donations at this time.
