Evelyn Henrietta Loethen, 84, of Jefferson City, passed away Sunday, September 13, 2020 at Capital Region Medical Center. She was born on August 3, 1936 in Jefferson City, the daughter of the late Eugene P. and Eda H. LePage. Evelyn was united in marriage on July 4, 1964 to Robert Loethen at the Cathedral of St. Joseph in Jefferson City. Evelyn was a 1954 graduate of Jefferson City High School. She and Robert owned and operated Loethen Eggen Tire Service on Dunklin Street for many years. Evelyn worked for Capital Region Medical Center for over 35 years until her retirement. She was a member of Central United Church of Christ. Evelyn enjoyed traveling and walks on the beach. She was a loving soul and hard worker and always ready to help and not afraid to get her hands dirty. Evelyn loved to "set outside and smell the roses", even though she was usually to busy to do so. She was a very strong person that was always worried about taking care of others and never thinking of herself. Most of all, Evelyn loved spending time with her granddaughter, Hunter. Evelyn is survived by her husband of 56 years, Robert; son: Rob Loethen (Amanda) of Jefferson City; brother: Harold LePage (Helen) of Jefferson City; and granddaughter: Hunter Nicole Loethen. She was preceded in death by her twin sister: Carolyn LePage and brother: Robert LePage. A memorial visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Friday, September 18 at Houser-Millard Funeral Directors. Expressions of sympathy may be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital. Arrangements are under the direction of HOUSER-MILLARD Funeral Directors, 2613 West Main Street, Jefferson City, MO 65109, (573) 636-3838.
