Celebrate Texas Wine Month with these Grapevine events

Even though the annual GrapeFest is cancelled, you can still celebrate Texas Wine Month this October in Grapevine.

October is Texas Wine Month, which means Grapevine is hosting a whole host of events to celebrate. The city, which is home to a number of wineries, tasting rooms, vineyards and the Urban Wine Trail, will host a variety of events for wine-lovers in the month of October.

While Grapevine’s annual GrapeFest was canceled this year due to the pandemic, you can still enjoy Texas wines with a variety of events throughout the city.

To kick off the month, Nash Farm is set to host a Harvest Moon Supper on Oct. 1. The event is already sold out, according to the Grapevine Convention and Visitors Bureau website, but those interested in fall-centric festivities can still buy tickets for the Nash Farm Barn Dance and Pie Auction scheduled for Oct. 16 at 6:30 p.m. Tickets are $20.

The Jazz Wine Train, an event taking place from Oct. 2 to Oct. 4 on the Grapevine Vintage Railroad, will include tastings from Grapevine tasting rooms, food and jazz music. There are two options for attendance, Oct. 2 beginning at 7:30 p.m. and Oct. 4 beginning at noon, according to the website. Tickets are $62 and limited to guests 21 years of age or older.

The New Vintage Wine and Gallery Trail gives guests the opportunity to explore historic downtown Grapevine tasting rooms with drinks, food samples and a souvenir wine glass included. Guests will view art and sip wine in multiple locations around Grapevine. The event will take place Oct. 3 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tickets are $45 and guests must be 21 years of age or older.

The Lone Star International Wine Competition is scheduled for Oct. 28 and 29, according to the event website. People can view the judging of wines through the windows at the Grapevine Visitor Information Center.
