An early morning house fire that severely damaged a North Nashville home Thursday morning has been deemed suspicious, a fire spokesman said.

Barnett Fire

The blaze broke out just after 4:30 a.m. at a one-story home at 2218 24th Avenue North just south of Rosa Parks Boulevard, Nashville Fire Department spokesman Brian Haas said.

Crews arrived to find the home fully engulfed with smoke and flames, Haas said.

No one was injured in the fire.

The home, Haas said, had been vacant for several weeks and the power had been cut off.

Haas said it appears the fire started in the living room.

The cause of the fire was not immediately known but investigators suspect foul play, Haas said.
