Dauphin Island Sea Lab to offer docent training in February

DAUPHIN ISLAND, Alabama -- Dauphin Island Sea Lab will hold Docent Training for those interested in volunteering.

According to a press release from the Dauphin Island Sea Lab, the Estuarium host tens of thousands of visitors year-round. Visitors include school children and international visitors.

The docents interact with the guests and educate them on Gulf Coast and the Sea Lab.

A team of marine educators and aquarists from the Dauphin Island Sea Lab will offer the docent training. Trainees will learn about the animals and explore the habitats represented in the Estuarium.

The training session will be held from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Feb. 21. Lunch will be provided. Pre-registration by Feb. 14 is encouraged to ensure a spot.
