The bodies of two people, a man and a woman, were found submerged in the water off Boston's Black Falcon Pier Friday afternoon.
Massachusetts State Police divers, assisted by a Boston Fire Department diver, located and recovered the SUV with two people inside from the Reserved Channel leading to the harbor in the Boston Seaport.
Family members told NewsCenter 5 21-year-old Tatianna Morales, who lived in New Bedford, and a man were found inside of the submerged vehicle.
The two people had been missing since Tuesday.
State police said the recovery of the vehicle and the victims "was a development in a still ongoing investigation."
State police said they responded to Black Falcon Avenue around 12:30 p.m. Friday after developing information that a sport utility vehicle went into the water at that location earlier this week.
Police said divers were able to extricate the female victim and bring her body to shore. The male victim could not be extricated from the vehicle while underwater, so divers hooked tow cables to the entire vehicle and a truck winched it out.
The male victim was recovered from the vehicle once it was on land.
Friends of the victim they were in the area Thursday searching for the two after Morales posted a Snapchat video from the area.
The circumstances surrounding their deaths was not immediately clear and state police said it was subject to the ongoing investigation.
