Jim Haaff and Henry Ayres will be co-honored as Spencer County’s 2017 “Historians of the Year” at 10 a.m. Sept. 9 at Cornerstone United Methodist Church just east of Chrisney. Both enjoyed stellar athletic careers in high school and college before accepting positions in Spencer County school system; both are members of the Indiana Baseball Hall of Fame.

They starred as teammates on the same semi-pro team, but were coaching rivals.
