SCHAUMBURG, IL — An employee of the Schaumburg Illinois Secretary of State Driver Service facility has tested positive for COVID-19. The facility will be closed until July 2 "out of an abundance of caution" the agency said Friday, stating the public is not directly impacted by the situation. Employees who work at the facility are being quarantined for two weeks while the facility is scheduled to be cleaned and sanitized following CDC guidelines.

The office of Secretary of State Jesse White had said Thursday the facility at 1227 E. Golf Road will not open due to an unspecified "situation" involving COVID-19.
