COVID-19 cases, hospitalizations dwindle in Pa.

Pennsylvania reported 177 new COVID-19 infections on Tuesday, with 406 people hospitalized and 93 in intensive care.

Pennsylvania at one point in early 2021 had been registering more than 10,000 new cases daily, with hospitalizations peaking at about 6,300.

The state health department on Tuesday also reported 34 new COVID-19 deaths, bringing Pennsylvania’s total to 27,604.

The health department in its daily update said 59% of Pennsylvanians 18 or older, or about 5.3 million people, are fully vaccinated against COVID-19.
