Bergen County man killed in New York auto crash

A New Jersey man was killed in a Tuesday morning crash in New York state, authorities said.

Joseph R. Farina, 32, of Mahwah, was driving east on School Road in the town of Monroe, located in Orange County, around 7:20 a.m. when his 1996 Toyota Avalon collided with a westbound 2013 Acura TL, according to New York State Police.

Farina was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.

The status of the Acura driver, a 67-year-old Warwick, New York, man, was not disclosed.
