She said a man got into a waiting car after the 3:30 p.m. robbery at 6585 Oakmont Drive and then jumped out and ran in the 6300 block of state Highway 12.

Police stopped the suspect vehicle at Highway 12 and Melita Road and detained the driver, Michael Fuesz, 64, and continued the search for the bank robber, Banayat said. Inside Fuesz's vehicle, officers located a pellet gun and clothing similar to that described in the robbery, according to Banayat.

The California Highway Patrol and the Sonoma County Sheriff's Department assisted in the search, which led to a SWAT response at a home in the 6300 block of Highway 12, Banayat said.

The search caused temporary closures of Highway 12 between Los Alamos Road and Oakmont Drive, Banayat said.

Officers searched numerous outbuildings and brush areas on the property before finding the suspect, identified as 40-year-old Jason Richard Fuesz, behind some bushes at about 7:20 p.m. Jason Fuesz, who was allegedly in possession of currency consistent with that taken in the robbery, was arrested without incident, Banayat said.

The father and son were booked in the Sonoma county jail on charges of armed robbery and conspiracy.
