Connie Ellis Duck, 75, passed away June 12, 2021. She was born in Southampton County, the daughter of the late Wilson and Edith Ellis. She was predeceased by her husband of 58 years, Richard “Dickie” Elijah Duck; her daughter, Cynthia Duck Parker; and siblings, Betty Ellis Butler, Peggy Ellis Wilson and Shirley L. Ellis. Connie retired from production control at the Brown Jordan Company. She served as a Past President for the Auxiliary VFW #4411 and District President of the VFW Department of Virginia District 2. She was also a member of the Auxiliary VFW #6060, the M.O.C.A. #9, and a former member of the Suffolk Moose Lodge.  

Connie is survived by her daughters, Cheryl Duck Whitehurst, Teresa L. Duck and Angela Duck (Eddie Vaughan); grandchildren, Dawn, April, Travis, Yolanda, Thomas, Tara and Taylor; 10 great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Ella Ellis; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, June 16, at Parr Funeral Home & Crematory with Pastor Ricky Garza and the Rev. Basil “Buzz” Ballard officiating. Friends may join the family for a time of visitation from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday night at the funeral home and other times at Connie’s residence. The VFW Auxiliary Ritual will begin at 6 p.m. on Tuesday night at the start of her visitation. Burial will be private at a later date at Albert G. Horton Jr. Memorial Veterans Cemetery.
