Authorities have identified the man who was found dead in an Ashland residence on Sunday in what police are investigating as an apparent homicide.
The Ashland Police Department reported Tuesday that Marcus H. Holton, 52, of Odanah was found deceased in a residence at 222 12th Ave. E. when officers were called to the residence at about 11:38 p.m. Sunday on a tip that a man there may have been injured and in need of assistance. Police had to break into the home, and found Holton dead.
The Wisconsin State Crime Lab and Wisconsin State Patrol responded and processed the scene. “Numerous leads are being followed up on” and a “person of interest” has developed in the case, according to Ashland police. It appears to be an isolated incident, authorities said.
