State police say they busted a 41-year-old Brooktondale woman who was keeping meth inside an Easter Egg on Friday night.

A trooper patrolling Elmira Road in the Town of Ithaca stopped a vehicle because she noticed the passenger was not wearing a seatbelt, authorities said. The officer found an Easter egg in the possession of Melissa Armstrong which contained an item the officer suspected to be crystal meth.

The trooper also found a small amount of marijuana in the vehicle, police said.

Armstrong was arrested on a charge of seventh-degree possession of a controlled substance, an unlawful possession of marijuana violation and given a no seatbelt ticket.

Armstrong was released on an appearance ticket for July 19 in the Town of Ithaca Court.
