Reality TV fans saw Scottsdale native Courtney Robertson find love in 2012 on "The Bachelor" with lead Ben Flajnik. But when she got married this month, the event was more subdued — or at least not televised for a national audience.

The groom was also not someone people would be familiar with unless they follow her on social media.

On Oct. 16, Robertson, 37, married fiancé Humberto Preciado in what she called on Instagram an "intimate" wedding in Sedona, with only their families in attendance. It was a far cry from their original plan, which couldn't happen due to COVID-19.

"We are not going to have the wedding we wanted, due to numbers, social distancing, safety, etc. BUT it is happening," she wrote in an Instagram post in August.

"I truly feel for everyone who has had to postpone or cancel their wedding plans or special events that didn’t turn out the way you wanted them to. ⁣My heart goes out to the women laboring in masks and to the parents taking on distance learning"

The couple invited only their families to the ceremony, which took place at Tlaquepaque's Patio de las Campanas in Sedona.

The announcement in August of a reimagined ceremony came two months after the birth of son Joaquin Ramon Preciado. She and Preciado announced their engagement and pregnancy all at once in one Instagram post in December.

Robertson, an alumna of Arcadia High School who used to work as a model, appeared in Season 16 of "The Bachelor." Many viewers dubbed her the season's villain — a title she wore proudly when she published a book about her experience on the show, called "I Didn't Come Here to Make Friends: Confessions of a Reality Show Villain."

She left the show engaged to Ben Flajnik, but the couple called it quits a year later, in October 2012.

According to People, Robertson and Preciado met on Instagram last year.

"Before I met Humberto I was about to lose hope," she told the magazine. "I was giving up on dating. But I'm so glad I waited. Humberto feels like home to me. And I know I finally met the right one."
