KNOX COUNTY, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) — A man was arrested by Indiana State Police troopers late Thursday night in Knox County after allegedly stealing a truck pulling a trailer with two riding lawn mowers on it.

Around 11:40 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 23, ISP got a report that a stolen truck pulling a trailer was driving north on US 41 south of Vincennes, Ind. The truck, trailer and two lawn mowers on the trailer were allegedly stolen from Owensboro, Ky., according to a police report from ISP.

Troopers tracked down the truck and attempted to pull it over, but the truck did not stop. Moments later, according to the report, the truck crashed on US 41 at Willow Street and the driver ran away on foot.

Police set up a perimeter and searched the area with a K-9 unit, eventually finding the driver hiding behind a building on Old Decker Road, police said. The driver was identified as Bobby Ray Miller, 31, Lake Station, Ind.

Miller was then arrested without further incident and taken to Good Samaritan Hospital where test results allegedly showed he was under the influence of cocaine. Police then took Miller to Knox County Jail where he is being held on bond.

Five charges are now being brought against Miller for his alleged involvement in the theft and crash, including felony charges of auto theft and resisting law enforcement as well as misdemeanor charges for driving with a suspended license, driving while intoxicated and resisting law enforcement.
