White Plains Man Faces Felony Drunk Driving Charge

Police said the man had been convicted of driving while intoxicated within the last 10 years.

PORT CHESTER, NY — A vehicle and traffic stop yielded the accusation that a White Plains man was driving while more than twice the legal limit for alcohol. State police said, around 2:30 a.m. Sunday, troopers stopped a vehicle on Boston Post Road in the Village of Port Chester.

The driver of the car — Silvano A. Perez Garcia, 53, of White Plains — was found to be intoxicated, police said.

He was taken into custody, and at the New Rochelle barracks, his blood alcohol content was determined to be 0.20 percent.

Additionally, Garcia had been convicted of driving while intoxicate within the last 10 years and was required to drive with an ignition interlock device.

As a result, he was charged with aggravated driving while intoxicated, a felony, operating a motor vehicle with no ignition interlock device, a misdemeanor, and numerous vehicle and traffic violations.

Garcia was turned over to a sober third party and released on appearance tickets returnable to the Village of Port Chester Court Dec. 6.
