Samuel D. “Sam” Miller

TOWN of LEON — Samuel D. “Sam” Miller, 77, of 12654 Young’s Road, Conewango Valley, town of Leon, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, September 29, 2021, at home after an extended illness with his family at his side.

He was born Oct. 16, 1943, in Middlefield, Ohio, the son of late Dan E.N. and Melinda S. (Miller) Miller. He was a member of the Old Order of the Amish Community in Leon and owned and operated Miller Dairy Farm and Miller’s Furniture Shop.

He is survived by his wife, Naomi C. (Kauffman) Miller; nine daughters: Melinda, twins: Anna and Fannie, Ella, Esther, Sarah, Lydia, Rebecca and Amanda; seven sons: Johnnie, Melvin, Enos, Andy, Neil, Sam Jr. and Daniel; 100 grandchildren; 24 great grandchildren; six sisters: Lizzie Ann, Esther, Nancy, Katie, Mary and Melinda; and three brothers: Andy, John and Danny.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a grand- daughter, Elmina; and siblings: Urie and Eli Miller.

The family was received by friends and family on Thursday and Friday (Sept, 30 and Oct. 1, 2021) at the family home. Funeral services will be held in the home at 9 a.m. Saturday, (Oct. 2, 2021) Bishop John Miller will officiate. Burial will be in the Young’s Road Amish Cemetery, Town of Leon.
