Descanso Gardens will hold a daylight pumpkin festival this autumn.

“Halloween at Descanso” opens Oct. 1 and runs through Oct. 25 with hours of 9 a.m.-5 p.m.

From Oct. 26 to Oct. 31, hours will be extended to 8 p.m. But on Halloween night, extended hours will be reserved for the botanical garden’s Family Plus members, according to a news release.

Displays at the 150-acre property will include a house made of pumpkins, a pumpkin arch, and a pumpkin mandala.

Before the novel coronavirus pandemic, Descanso Gardens celebrated Halloween with a nighttime festival of jack-o-lanterns called “Carved” that will return in 2021, according to the botanical garden’s website.

Visitors can also see sasanqua camellias, roses and fall foliage in October, according to Descanso’s bloom calendar.

Ticket prices range from $4 to $15, according to the news release, and must be purchased in advance.
