A body was recovered on the Yellowstone River near Worden on Saturday afternoon with the help of a few local boaters on the river.
Lt. Kent O’Donnell with the Yellowstone County Sheriff’s Office confirmed that an adult male was caught up in a few tree snags in the river after the group of boaters called in the body around 4 p.m.
The owner of the boat offered to assist officials in retrieving the body, located on the north bank of the river opposite North 22nd Road just east of Worden. The body was taken to the south side of the river at around 6 p.m. and then to the Billings State Crime Lab.
“With the current level of the river, we would have had to put a boat in at Huntley and then it’s about 18 miles down to where the body was, so it actually worked out very well that this gentleman offered his boat up to assist deputies and firefighters across the river,” said O'Donnell.

He stressed the importance of using life jackets and other safety measures while on the river.Â
