Young Cowboy Practices Calf Roping on Patient Dog

A young cowboy practiced his calf-roping skills on his very tolerant pup in Cuervo, New Mexico, on November 11.

Chell Price recorded this video of her 10-year-old son, Haize, practicing his roping technique on their dog, Fred. Chell told Storyful that Haize and Fred play like this all the time.

“They are best friends! Fred pouts until Haize gets home from school!” she said.

Price added that they do more than just pretend calf roping; they also play hide-and-seek or football.

The video shows Haize lassoing Fred, then rushing over to tie up his legs. Haize removes the lasso soon after and is heard telling his furry pal that he’s a “good boy.” Credit: Chell Price via Storyful
