COVID-19 cases put more people in the hospital

Hospitalizations for COVID-19 in the Omaha metro ticked up in the latest report issued Monday by the Douglas County Health Department.70 adults were listed as hospitalized for COVID-19 in Douglas, Sarpy, Dodge. Saunders and Washington counties, plus in hospitals in Council Bluffs and Missouri Valley, IowaTwo children in the region were also hospitalized for COVID-19.The hospitalization count represents an increase of 7 adults cases since the last report on May 12th, and an increase of 25 since the start of May. Of those hospitalized, 13 are in intensive care.The number remains far below hospitalization levels seen at the start of 2022.The Douglas County Health Department says 1,120 people with COVID-19 complications have died since the pandemic began. Two children in the region were also hospitalized for COVID-19.
