Dick’s Last Resort has closed its Faneuil Hall location

The restaurant was known for its sizable margaritas and crude humor.

Faneuil Hall has lost one of its longstanding tenants with the closure of Dick’s Last Resort.

A representative for Faneuil Hall confirmed that the restaurant chain, known for its crude humor and sarcastic staff, has permanently shuttered. Dick’s Last Resort did not respond to Boston.com’s request for comment, but its Boston location has been scrubbed from its website.

Guests who visited the restaurant and bar, which was located at the eastern end of Quincy Market, were required to have a thick skin. The eatery’s gimmick: Insults and taunts from the staff, served alongside mozzarella sticks, fried shrimp, burgers, fish and chips, and other stick-to-your-ribs fare. Visitors also frequented for the massive margaritas and sizable beer selection, and its expansive space often hosted bachelor and bachelorette parties.

The Boston location opened 15 years ago, and it reopened for a period of time during the pandemic before closing for good. It currently has locations in Florida, Indiana, Nevada, South Carolina, Tennessee, and Texas.
