Habitat has released five beautiful new framed prints from up and coming artists which could adorn your wall this autumn for as little as £135.

The design store collaborated with London's The Other Art Fair for the project. Customers were asked to vote for their favourite from 10 artworks from emerging British artists. And they dutifully did, with more than 2,500 helping whittle down the longlist to just five. Now a limited number of signed prints from each artist are available to buy.

Emma Copley’s ’My Little Swimmer’.

The artworks by the five shortlisted finalists – Hippolyte Reininger, Rosemary Chatin, Elena Garcia de la Fuente, Emma Copley and Iona Stern – are seriously gallery wall-worthy.

Emma Copley's abstract painting, My Little Swimmer, is inspired by French impressionist painters like Monet and Degas. She used oil on canvas and a palette knife to quickly portray how she imagines her daughter feels when swimming in the sea.

'I aim to express not just an emotion with the combination of gesture and colour, but a sense of speed,' she says.

Rosemary Chatin's work, Piscine et Matelas Rayes, is just as mesmerising.

She was born in England and grew up in Spain before moving to France. This mixed media work is part of her 'Pool and Palm Trees' series – inspired by her childhood in the Canary Islands where, she says, 'architecture contrasts with luscious plants and reflections of the water'.

Iona Stern's 'On The Diagonal' will also add some much needed colour and warmth to your walls.

Having spent many years working in advertising as a creative director, London-based Iona changed tack and took up painting and screen printing from her Ealing studio. This abstract piece depicts 'a partially clothed woman reclining on a mattress and cushions' from above.

'I stood close to her, looking up the length of her body', Iona explains. 'It gives the surprising impression that she is upside-down. Rather than slavishly depicting what was in front of me, I used the strong contrasting colours to add to the graphic and abstract quality.'

You can shop all five works in the Habitat x Other Art Fair autumn gallery collection now.
