There’s a new 6A All-Sports Award champion for the third year in a row.

Madison Central beat out Ocean Springs to claim the award. In 5A, Germantown secured its second straight Clarion Ledger All-Sports Award.

The Clarion Ledger has decided an all-sports champion in each MHSAA class for the past 30 years. This season's totals included 23 sports: 11 girls sports, 11 boys sports and combined teams in archery and tennis.

Here’s how each classification shaped out.

6A

Madison Central accrued 367.5 points to win the award for 6A, with championships in boys tennis, girls tennis and girls swimming, along with runner-up finishes in boys swimming, girls soccer and golf.

The Madison Central tennis team won the 2018-19 6A state title.

Ocean Springs, last year’s champion, picked up titles in cross country, girls golf and girls soccer to finish second with 330.5 points.

Runner-up finishes in archery, girls tennis and soccer allowed Northwest Rankin to come in third with 306.5. Brandon also tallied over 300 points (302) with the help of a volleyball title and a runner-up finish in fast-pitch softball.
