Boring, boring and more boring

Let me ask, who gives a rip anymore about Britney Spears and her uninteresting saga dealing with her father? How boring can the news get to keep bringing her up, and who in their right mind cares? I don’t. Does anyone out there care? God, there’s more to life than hearing about the poor girl’s life with her dad, and now her new finance. I couldn’t care less, and now CNN is touting this show about her. Boring, boring and more boring.

Intolerable situation

I read the tragic story about the young man killed in Zion when shots were fired into his apartment. Very sad. Very tragic. But, shouldn’t it also be “news” when shots are fired and fly through your living room, but they miss the occupant by less than a foot. No one killed, so not news I guess, but this has happened to four homes on my block in the last couple of weeks. Only one of those homes was the intended target, but these shooters don’t discriminate. They just fire wildly. It’s like the tree falling in the woods with no one there to hear it. I guess if you don’t report it, if the police don’t tell the residents, then it’s as if it never really happened. Unfortunately, it’s only a matter of time before another attempt is made to kill the intended target, and more adjacent homes are riddled with bullets, possibly killing an innocent occupant. It’s an intolerable situation.

Get back

We Christians need to wake up and get back to one nation under God?

Take some time to read up

For those who aren’t actually doctors, you may not be aware the medication ivermectin is not just used on animals. Take some time to read up on the Japanese scientist Satoshi Omura, who received the Nobel Prize in physiology and medicine back in 2015 for his discovery of ivermectin more than 30 years prior to that. It is reckless to throw around misinformation for the purpose of discrediting someone when it may be the best option for someone’s health issue. That, along with hydroxychloroquine, which has been a successful medication for people traveling to countries with malaria as a prevention of contracting that disease since the ’60s. The only correlation that would make sense is both are very cheap to make, and if they were able to eradicate and control COVID fairly effectively, no one will reap a profit. It’s a shame that profit usurps what’s best for the public at large. We won’t have cures for anything as long as it makes big money for people or corporations.

Irresponsible people

You published a letter about Haitian immigrants who had been given refugee status in Latin American countries. Haiti is a violent, corrupt, poverty stricken country where there is little hope for the future. In their new countries, they had gotten good jobs, free education for their children and safe neighborhoods to live in. Instead of being grateful, these people sold all their possessions, pulled their kids out of school and tried to come to the United States illegally. Is there a reason we would want these irresponsible people living in our country?

GOP wasting money

What’s with the GOP and wasting money? The GOP started the war in Afghanistan, which resulted in an estimated $300 million a day on a failed war. The GOP launched a recall election that cost the California taxpayers $300 million. It failed. Arizona’s failed Ninja recount is costing Arizona taxpayers at least $3 million in new voting machines, not to mention the unknown millions wasted by Trump supporters to fund it. Imagine that money being spent on infrastructure, or paying down debt, or health care right here at home. The GOP can’t be trusted with our money.

Making millions

The increase of taxes in Chicago is only going to be to supplement the pensions in Chicago, and they have tons of pensions. Something that they just don’t want to get rid of. None of our state representatives in Illinois wants to amend these pensions. Of course not. Not when they’re making millions off the backs of the middle-class and the poor.
