Ed Babb Crockett

Mr. Ed Babb Crockett, Jr., 91, of Lake Serene, Hattiesburg, MS, passed away on August 27, 2021 at Asbury Hospice House in Hattiesburg.

He was born January 13, 1930 in Jackson, MS. to Thelma and Ed Crockett, Sr. He married Jean Davis of Jeff Davis County on August 5, 1950 in Jackson MS. They were proud to celebrate 71 years of married life.

Mr. Crockett developed a passion for electronics in his youth and worked in the electronic industry all his life. In the latter years of his life, he owned his own company, a thriving mail order business called Vintage Electronics. Ed loved family, fun, friends, work, and the Lord. He was a member of Magnolia Baptist Church. He attended church regularly and was involved in many church activities and ministries throughout his life. He was an avid motorcyclist until age 80. He loved to ride bicycles also and continued to do so until age 89. He was an avid user and supporter of the Long Leaf Trace.

Mr. Crockett is survived by his wife, Jean Davis Crockett of Hattiesburg; his son, Zack Crockett of Silver City, New Mexico; and his daughter, Jeanine Crockett of Winterport, Maine, as well as daughter, Chris Crockett of Santa FE, New Mexico. He is also survived by four grandchildren: Lluvia Musgrave, Liorah Crockett, and Cedric Crockett of La Veta, Colorado; and Quinn Crockett of Silver City, New Mexico. He has three great-grandchildren, Tristian Musgrave, Rowan Musgrave, and Jaxtyn Crockett of La Veta, Colorado.

Ed will be deeply missed by family, friends, business associates, and church members.

Graveside services will be Thursday, September 2, 2021 at Highland Cemetery at 10 A.M. with visitation from 9 A.M. until service at the cemetery. In case of inclement weather, services will be held at Moore Funeral Home in Hattiesburg.
