Michigan reports 722 new coronavirus cases, 26 deaths

The State of Michigan reported 722 new coronavirus cases and 26 deaths Thursday.

The Michigan Department of Health and Human Services has now reported 85,429 total confirmed cases of COVID-19, with 6,247 total deaths.

The deaths announced Thursday include 17 deaths identified during a vital records review.

The health department has also reported 9,227 probable cases of COVID-19, with 259 probable deaths. 

Michigan reported 26,196 diagnostic tests (820 positive results) on Wednesday, for a positivity rate of 3.13%.

The overall fatality rate among confirmed cases of COVID-19 is 7.3%. As of July 31, the number of those recovered totaled 60,022.
