From a fairly impressive collection of salt and pepper shakers to a self-playing piano, the Musbach Museum in Scribner has a little something for everyone.

The museum preserves Nebraska history and offers you a chance to look back at how your ancestors lived.

The museum was established in 1973 by Amos Musbach.

“Amos never married and did not have children,” said Nona Wiese, curator of the museum. “He wanted to leave some of his historical legacy to the community for people to remember.”

Wiese says everything inside the museum has its own interesting story. She also says many of her visitors can relate to the pieces inside.

“We try to keep the memory alive of what our grandparents did,” said Wiese, “how your grandfather farmed or the school he went to.”

Wiese says the museum is a continuation of how we all have progressed through the years.

The museum doesn’t have regular business hours, but Wiese says it’s not hard to find someone in town to give you a tour.

“Residents in this community our proud of the museum and love to show it off,” said Wiese.

The Musbach Museum is located on Scribner’s main street. You can call (402) 664-3085 to schedule a tour.
