You Can Eat, Drink, and Vacation Like a Unicorn
Over the past few months, magical unicorn drinks, desserts, and makeup have been popping up everywhere. Unicorns are in, even though they're technically out (extinct) (not real). And if you're looking for more than just recipes or a makeup, you can now vacation like a unicorn.
Destination Hotels - a collection of independent hotels and resorts across the U.S. and Caribbean - has put together unicorn menu items at different locations so you can live like the magical horned horse you ~really~ are for a few days, at least in terms of your diet. The food and drinks are almost too beautiful to eat and drink but, well, you definitely should:
1. The Pink Unicorn
A combination of coconut boba with dragon fruit puree and bubble gum-infused chocolate, topped with sprinkles.
Available at La Cantera Resort & Spa in San Antonio, Texas.
2. Unicorn Tiramisu
A pink, unicorn take on a classic dessert.
Available at Hotel De Anza in San Jose, California.
3. Unicorn Cocktail
Made with Tanqueray, lime, lemon, simple syrup, and strawberry sorbet, this cocktail is topped with orange turmeric foam, chantilly cream laced with blue curacao, and garnished with sprinkles.
Available at Terranea Resort in Rancho Palos Verdes, California.
4. Unicorn Cupcakes
These strawberry and banana marbled cupcakes are topped with Italian butter cream meringue and ~unicorn sparkle dust~ toppings.
Available at Terranea Resort in Rancho Palos Verdes, California.
5. Unicorn Parfaits
Panna cotta, strawberry, banana, blackberry, and coconut, all topped off with chantilly cream with meringue and garnished with edible flowers.
Available at Terranea Resort in Rancho Palos Verdes, California.
6. Unicorn Cakes
Three inches of fluffy cake layers with rainbow butter cream meringue, topped with unicorn-inspired sparkles.
Available at Terranea Resort in Rancho Palos Verdes, California.
7. The Blue Unicorn
Made with Godiva white chocolate, blueberry vodka, and blueberry puree, the glass is rimmed with Cotton Candy Pop Rocks and edible glitter, then topped with cotton candy-infused whipped cream, Lucky Charms, and rock candy.
Available at La Cantera Resort & Spa in San Antonio, Texas.
8. The Last Unicorn
Destination Hotels isn't the only hotel ~riding~ the unicorn trend. The Last Unicorn comes from the Thompson Seattle in Seattle, Washington, but was worthy of being mentioned. Made of coconut mousse, passionfruit gelatin, and a raspberry sphere along with lime sorbet, this pastry has a tropical cream and edible gold-covered white chocolate passionfruit bonbon for a horn.
P.S. The hotels' views are also quite magical, BTW:
