Olson, Phyllis J. age 89, of Bemidji and Wayzata, passed away peacefully February 7. Preceded in death by husband, Jim; parents Warren & Florence, and her Aunt Louise. She is survived by her children, Mike (Judy) Olson, Gary (Carolyn) Olson, Jodie (Tom) Woodrow, and Jamie (Jill) Olson; grandchildren Carin, Chris (Leah), Patrick (Karla), Nikki, Morgan, TJ, Kayla (Reece), Kelsey, and Danny; brother Richard (Marlene) Holbert; and many loving and wonderful relatives and friends. She was born in Cumberland, WI, on August 27, 1930. Phyllis moved to Minnesota, met Jim at a dance in St. Paul and went pheasant hunting with him the very next day-Phyllis and Jim married in 1952. She shared Jim's passion for bird hunting; in 1964 they built their "cabin" in Bemidji which served as foundation of their family and hub for numerous friends and guests for over 50 years. Phyllis was the gracious host known for her gentle spirit, warm heart, engaging laugh and welcoming personality. She loved to garden, enjoyed feeding and watching birds, and poured her heart and soul into her children and grandchildren. Memorial service February 21 at 11 AM with visitation 1 hour prior to service at Pax Christi Catholic Community, 12100 Pioneer Trail, Eden Prairie; luncheon after service. Memorials preferred to Haven Homes of Maple Plain or Alzheimer's Association.
