Back to work! Celebrity chef Colin Fassnidge is all smiles as he hands out free meals on a mobility scooter while recovering from a 'stomach operation'

He recently revealed he was in hospital undergoing a recent 'stomach operation'.

And on Monday, My Kitchen Rules star Colin Fassnidge appeared to be in good in good spirits as he shared a black and white photo of himself on a mobility scooter.

In the photo, the 45-year-old chef is seen smiling while giving out free meals to the locals in Banksia, Sydney.

'Soup kitchen still on today,' he wrote underneath the photo.

Colin handed out meals stored in brown paper bags to the locals and he also had a basket filled with free bread.

This isn't the first time the big-hearted chef has helped out during the coronavirus pandemic.

In March, the My Kitchen Rules star shared a video to Instagram to let fans in the area know that he can offer them a free feed.

He said in the Instagram video: 'Everybody is doing takeaway. We're doing takeaway from our two places.

'But what we realised was a lot of people who have been coming in soon won't be able to afford takeaway or meals and have families that are doing it tough.'

On Thursday last week, Colin told The Daily Telegraph that he had undergone the operation at Sydney's Prince of Wales Private Hospital.

'They were looking for a heart, they couldn't find one. I've had a stomach ­operation,' the chef judge joked.

He added that despite being 'f**king sore', he was expecting to be discharged from the hospital over the weekend.
