Massachusetts high school culinary arts teacher Robert Vandenbulcke accused of sexually assaulting student

A 62-year-old culinary arts teacher at a high school in Danvers was arrested Wednesday afternoon and charged with sexually assaulting a student, according to Danvers police.

The teacher, Robert Vandenbulcke, works at the Essex North Shore Agricultural & Technical High School in Danvers.

Danvers police reports that Massachusetts State Police arrested Vandenbulcke at his home in Salisbury. He was charged with two counts of incident assault and battery on a person over 14.

Authorities said the teacher will be arraigned in Salem District Court Thursday.

“Danvers Police initiated an investigation on November 12th after a parent of a student contacted them concerning an incident that allegedly occurred at the school,” police said in a statement.

Authorities didn’t provide any more details about the alleged incident. The case is still being investigated by the Essex District Attorney’s Office and Danvers police.
