CLAYTON, Mo. (AP) - A suburban St. Louis man has been charged in the drive-by shooting last fall that killed another man and left two children injured.

Cameron Bernard, 19, of Northwoods, was charged Monday with first-degree murder, two counts of first-degree assault and several weapons and other counts, the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reported. He is accused in the October shooting that killed 19-year-old Ryan Hampton of Bridgeton.

Police have said Bernard fired a gun from a stolen Jeep into a car carrying Hampton and two young relatives - a 9-year-old girl and a 5-year-old boy. The children suffered minor injuries in the shooting.

Bail for Bernard was set at $500,000 cash-only on Monday. Online court records viewed Tuesday morning did not list an lawyer for Bernard.
