Talal Beshara had twice the reason to celebrate after winning both his races in the third round of the 2015/2016 Bahrain Rotax Mojo Max Challenge (BRMMC), held Bahrain International Karting Circuit (BIKC) in Sakhir.
Young Talal secured a fine double competing in the BRMMC’s Junior Max class.
Other winners on the day were Shaikh Mohammed bin Hamad Al Khalifa in race two of the BRMMC’s Max category; while Abdulla Buhindi and Ahmed Ebrahim shared the honours with a win apiece in round five of the 2015/2016 Bahrain SWS Sprint Championship (SSWS).
There was plenty of action in both the BRMMC and SSWS, both of which are a part of the Bahrain Karting Sprint Championship (BKSC).
In the BRMMC, Talal overcame an intense head-to-head battle with Zaid Audih en route to claiming his two Junior Max victories. In race one, Talal completed the 11-lap sprint in a total time of 10 minutes 56.239 seconds. He enjoyed a narrow 1.969-second gap ahead of Zaid, who had to settle for the runner-up spot.
In race two, Talal managed to stretch his lead at the chequered flag to 3.798 seconds.
Meanwhile, in the Max class, Shaikh Mohammed bin Hamad Al Khalifa cruised to a fine win in race two. Shaikh Mohammed was virtually unchallenged in the event, as chief rival Shaikh Isa bin Salman Al Khalifa did not start the race.
In the first sprint, both Shaikh Mohammed and Shaikh Isa were unlucky not to complete the distance. Shaikh Mohammed bowed out after seven laps, while Shaikh Isa retired after three laps.
In the SSWS, Abdulla Buhindi was the man to beat early on. Outperforming a grid of 15 other competitors, Buhindi snatched first place in style with a single lap lead from runner-up Khaled Alsaie.
In third place was Ali Baslar 0.337s back, while fourth and fifth were Mohammed Mattar and Ahmed Ebrahim, respectively. Sami Favre, Bader Almubarak and Louay Malas rounded out the top eight.
In the follow-up sprint, Ebrahim was this time atop the podium steps lifting the winner’s trophy. He won in a total race time of 13:27.366. Ebrahim enjoyed a gap of 4.201s ahead of Favre, while Almubarak came third 4.327s behind.
Mattar once again came up short of a podium finish in fourth, while Baslar was fifth and Alsaie sixth. Yousif Khamiri and Abdulla Buhindi were classified seventh and eighth, respectively.
The winners were presented their respective trophies in a podium ceremony.
The BKSC resumes with round four in the BRMMC and round six in the SSWS on April 8.
