Dangerous heat continues

Heat advisory will mean heat indices will climb to near 110 this afternoon.

TODAY: We will have yet another round of heat advisories across south Texas and will last through the evening today and expire at 7 PM. This means, during the primary heating of the day, heat indices could easily climb to near 110. Take the steps needed to replenish your water and consume plenty of it today and stay in the shade as needed. Air temperatures will be near record heat around 100 degrees with a light breeze out of the southeast at 10-20 mph.

LOOKING AHEAD: The ridge of high pressure looks to stay with us through next week. This will translate into low end rain chances, unseasonably high temperatures and light winds which means no relief in this forecast. Take the proper precautions to get ready for this heat wave. The heat index looks to stay elevated into next week well above 105 each day.

TROPICS: Activity is quiet with no tropical systems to watch. The tropics are expected to remain quiet through the forecast.
